Rail Assembly Fitter

Location: Birkenhead
Pay: £16.23 per hour (PAYE goes up to £18.03 after completing competencies)
Progression: Up to £34,694 upon successful completion of competencies

The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Rail Fitters / Assembly Fitters to join a modern and well-maintained facility in Birkenhead. This is a hands-on role focused on the stripping, assembly, and preparation of rail components as part of rolling stock overhaul operations.
You will be working as part of a friendly, professional team in a clean environment, using new technologies and updated processes to support efficient and high-quality work. 

Key Responsibilities

As a Fitter you will be stripping down and Fitting components on rail parts and assemblies
Cleaning parts to required standards using appropriate methods
Preparing components for inspection, repair, or reassembly

You will learn how to sandblast, paint and assemble train components
Following safety, quality, and process procedures
Maintaining a clean and organised working area


Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm (Unpaid lunch breaks)
Enjoy an early finish every Friday

Ideal Candidate

Experience in a hands-on, mechanical fitting, assembling components, or industrial environment (rail experience desirable but not essential)
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to follow procedures and work as part of a team
Willingness to learn and progress within the role
