About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and organised Assistant SENDCo to support the SENDCo in delivering high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will play a key role in ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed, working closely with staff, families, and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the SENDCo in managing and delivering SEND provision across the school
• Help coordinate support for students with SEND, including EHCP processes and annual reviews
• Line manage and support Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
• Assist with exam access arrangements, including assessments and applications
• Maintain accurate SEND records, provision maps, and student plans
• Work with teachers to ensure inclusive teaching and effective interventions
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies
• Support student progress, attendance, and wellbeing
• Deliver small group interventions and Functional Skills (Maths & English where required)

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Good understanding of SEND processes and legislation (or willingness to learn)
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and external professionals
• Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Desirable:

• Experience with exam access arrangements
• HLTA status or relevant SEND qualification
• Experience managing or supporting staff
