Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking resilient and proactive Behaviour Support staff to work in schools across Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals who can build positive relationships with students, de-escalate challenging situations, and help learners stay engaged in their education.
As a Behaviour Support practitioner, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupils who may struggle to access learning due to behavioural or emotional needs.
Main Responsibilities of Behaviour Support:

Support pupils in managing behaviour and staying engaged in lessons

Work 1:1 and with small groups to provide targeted intervention

Use effective de-escalation strategies when challenging behaviour arises

Assist teaching staff in maintaining a positive classroom environment

Encourage positive decision-making and emotional regulation

Support pupils in completing learning tasks and routines
-
Record and feedback on behaviour incidents and progress where required

Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school culture
Requirements of Behaviour Support:

Experience working with young people with behavioural or additional needs

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Confident, calm, and consistent approach in challenging situations

Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team

A genuine interest in supporting pupil development and wellbeing

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
