Role Summary

Based in our Chadderton office, the Billing and Credit Controller will be a key member of the Finance department, working closely with the Billing and Credit Control Manager to ensure deadlines are met with the Credit Control and Billing. Experience of working in a Finance role with high attention to detail and error checking skills is essential.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Offering support to the Billing and Credit Control Manager as well as the Financial Controllers and other finance team members where required. The successful candidates would eventually move into a No2 role to essentially run the team when the Manager is not around.
  • Making sure all customers pay invoices within agreed timescales, this will involve chasing customer both via Telephone and Email.
  • To ensure any queries are dealt with, face to face with other Sudlows staff, via telephone and email.
  • Ensuring Invoicing is completed and sent to clients in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
  • General Data input and extraction.
  • To support the team to maintain accurate, timely and legible records.
  • Acting as mentor to University Placement Students.

  • Experience previously working in a Finance team and Credit Control is preferred.

  • Able to maintain accurate and timely records as required by the role  
  • Identify and know how to solve everyday job-based problems in liaison with manager

  • Able to establish a rapport with other members of staff and service users as necessary e.g. clients, members of the public
  • Understand how to encourage and influence people to get the best from them
  • Understand the needs of others and able to respond accordingly
  • Once exp Communication:
  • Able to communicate factual information politely and courteously
  • Has excellent spoken skills e.g. telephone and face-to-face conversations
  • Able to listen, observe and report information to manager
  • Able to be polite but firm with customers who are late in paying
