Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Building Services Engineer to join its Professional Services, Production & Technology contract.
Job Overview
This role is responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across a large, multi-asset contract, while also supporting other engineers with client-driven tasks and works. The position plays a key role in maintaining service continuity, asset performance, and compliance standards across electrical and mechanical systems.
The successful candidate will be a proactive and reliable engineer, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a small team. Strong fault-finding ability, effective time management, and a commitment to high-quality documentation and service delivery are essential.

- Days: 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
- Nights: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, 3 nights on, 2 nights off, 2 nights on, 3 nights off
Key Responsibilities
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across the contract.
- Carry out scheduled PPMs on electrical and mechanical building services systems.
- Diagnose faults and respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical assets including lighting, wiring, and distribution boards.
- Service and maintain mechanical plant such as boilers, chillers, air-handling units, pumps, and controls.
- Ensure all maintenance, repair, and compliance documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with the management team to ensure service levels are consistently met or exceeded.
- Manage own workload effectively, prioritising tasks and responding appropriately to urgent requests.
Person Specification
- Previous experience working across multiple sites within a facilities management environment.
- Proven background in both PPM and reactive building services maintenance.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a small engineering team.
- Strong fault-finding, maintenance, installation, and inspection/testing skills.
- Electrical bias preferred, with relevant qualifications such as 18th Edition and NVQ or C&G Electrical Installations.
- Mechanical qualifications also considered, including NVQ or C&G Mechanical Engineering or C&G Heating & Ventilation.
