ABOUT THE BUSINESS
A well-established, award-winning construction project and cost management consultancy
operating from offices in the Midlands and London. Part of a larger group, the business has
significantly expanded its technical capabilities and geographical reach in recent years. The team

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a commercially astute and client-facing Director or senior QS to lead a team. You
will take ownership of a diverse project portfolio, drive business development, build and lead a
growing team, and play a central role in shaping the commercial strategy of the business. This is
a genuine leadership position with P&L responsibility and direct influence over the firm's direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead client relationships at senior level, acting as the primary commercial adviser from
inception through to final account
• Direct and oversee cost management delivery across multiple live commissions
simultaneously
• Drive business development activity — identifying, pursuing and converting new client
relationships and project commissions
• Build, manage and mentor the cost management team, supporting progression and
performance
• Establish and maintain commercial governance, quality standards and reporting
frameworks
• Lead on risk, value engineering and cost control strategy across the portfolio
• Provide authoritative advice on claims, disputes and contractual matters
• Oversee tender strategy, contract negotiation and final account settlement• Contribute to the firm's growth strategy including potential expansion into new sectors and
geographies
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
• Confident, credible communicator at board and client director level
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with P&L awareness
• Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and convert business opportunities
• Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate a professional team
• Deep understanding of construction contract law and procurement strategy
• Capable of managing complexity across multiple commissions and stakeholders
simultaneously
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 10 years' experience in cost management or quantity surveying.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline
• MRICS essential
• Experience across residential, commercial or mixed-use sectors preferred
