As a Computer Studies Teacher, you will play an important role in equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. This is an excellent opportunity for an engaging educator to deliver high-quality lessons and encourage students to explore computing, programming, and technology with confidence.

Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach computing and digital literacy across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5

  • Develop students’ understanding of programming, computational thinking, and technology

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils

  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and high expectations for learning

  • Support students’ academic achievement and personal development

  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum enhancement

Requirements of a Computer Studies Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computing, IT, or a related subject

  • Experience teaching Computer Studies in a school setting is desirable

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities

  • A professional and proactive approach to teaching

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
