We are recruiting for experienced Credit Controllers to join a fast-paced, high-performing finance team within a well-established, national organisation operating across infrastructure and essential services.

This is a busy and rewarding role where you will manage your own customer portfolio, proactively reduce aged debt, and support accurate cash flow forecasting. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of customers.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for managing outstanding customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of debt, and maintaining accurate financial records. Working closely with internal teams, you will help resolve queries, improve processes, and contribute to overall financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customers and maximise debt recovery
  • Contact customers regularly via telephone and email to secure payment
  • Log and resolve invoice queries accurately and efficiently
  • Record payment promises and support cash flow forecasting
  • Take card payments where required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records
  • Work closely with internal departments to resolve disputes
  • Escalate and support resolution of complex or unrecoverable debt
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement and efficiency gains
  • Support ad hoc finance and credit control tasks as required

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Credit Control or similar finance role
  • Strong debt collection and account management experience
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience managing high-volume or high-value accounts
  • Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliation work)
  • Experience supporting process improvement or change initiatives
