Deputy Manager – Supported Accommodation (16–18 Years)

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a growing supported accommodation service in Purley, supporting young people aged 16–18.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Deputy Manager looking for a new challenge, or for someone with experience within children's residential care or supported accommodation who is looking to further develop their career within the sector.

The service is a modern 4-bed supported accommodation home, focused on providing young people with the guidance, support, and life skills they need to transition successfully into independence.

The Role

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the service, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and support are delivered at all times.

You will play a key role in developing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and helping young people achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the daily running of the service.

  • Ensure the home operates in line with relevant regulations, quality standards, and safeguarding requirements.

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise support staff.

  • Assist with staff rotas, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.

  • Support young people in achieving positive outcomes and greater independence.

  • Maintain accurate records, risk assessments, and support plans.

  • Contribute to audits, inspections, and continuous service improvement.

  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and person-centred environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year's experience as a Deputy Manager within a supported accommodation, children's residential, or similar care setting.

  • Good understanding of safeguarding and relevant care regulations.

  • Experience working with young people aged 16–18 is desirable.

  • Knowledge of supported accommodation standards, Ofsted regulations, or CQC frameworks.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
