Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming secondary school in Witham, seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Humanities with a specialism in History to join their department on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their career within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. The successful candidate will primarily teach History, while also contributing to the wider Humanities curriculum. The school offers an excellent induction programme and strong departmental support to help ECTs thrive in the early stages of their teaching career.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Teaching History across KS3 and KS4
• Supporting the delivery of the wider Humanities curriculum where required
• Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
• Encouraging students to develop critical thinking, analytical, and evaluative skills
• Preparing students for GCSE examinations
• Assessing work and providing clear, constructive feedback
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Working collaboratively within a supportive Humanities department
• Participating in professional development opportunities as part of your ECT induction programme

What We're Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS completion
• A specialism in History and a passion for Humanities education
• Strong subject knowledge and an engaging teaching approach
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A professional, reliable, and enthusiastic attitude
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• ECTs are encouraged to apply
