Electrical Supervisor

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our team on a large residential development project. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical installation works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in residential construction and experience managing electrical operatives and subcontractors on multi-unit residential developments.

Electrical Supervisor Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all electrical installation activities on site.
  • Manage and coordinate electrical subcontractors and direct labour.
  • Ensure installations are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and current regulations.
  • Monitor progress against programme and report to the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, fire alarm, security, and other building services trades.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections and ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken safely and in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
  • Attend site coordination and progress meetings.
  • Identify and resolve technical and installation issues.
  • Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover activities.
  • Maintain site records, daily reports, and labour allocations.

Electrical Supervisor Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor within the construction industry.
  • Strong residential project experience, ideally on apartment or mixed-use developments.
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • ECS/JIB Gold Card.
  • Strong understanding of current electrical regulations and installation standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card.
  • Inspection and Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Experience with commissioning and handover procedures.
  • Experience using digital quality assurance and reporting systems.
