Location: Bicester
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: £35,000 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join our team at a commercial site in Bicester. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, providing planned and reactive building fabric maintenance to ensure the site remains safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have a strong carpentry background combined with experience in general building maintenance and fabric repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive building fabric maintenance works.
• Undertake carpentry repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, ironmongery, partitions, ceilings, flooring, and other building fabric elements.
• Complete minor painting and decorating, patch plastering, tiling, and general fabric repairs.
• Identify building defects and carry out effective remedial works.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works and maintenance activities.
• Support the wider facilities maintenance team when required.

Essential Requirements

• Recognised Carpentry Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Fabric Engineer, Carpenter, Maintenance Technician, or in a similar building maintenance role.
• Good all-round knowledge of commercial building fabric maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Package

• £35,000 per annum.
