Fire Door Supervisor (Working) – BM TRADA Location: Durham, Middlesbrough & Newcastle (Occasional Travel Expected) Salary: Circa £45,000 + Vehicle + Pension + Overtime
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and technically strong Fire Door Supervisor to join a well-established passive fire protection contractor delivering works across Durham, Middlesbrough and Newcastle. The business operates across a varied mix of social housing, student accommodation and NHS environments, with a combination of new installation and remedial works running concurrently across multiple live sites.
This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, mobile working, company vehicle, pension and overtime — ideal for a hands-on supervisor who takes pride in delivering fire door works to the highest BM TRADA standards.
The Role
As Working Fire Door Supervisor, you will support the Project Manager in the day-to-day delivery of fire door installation and remedial works across the North East. This is a hands-on role you will work alongside your team whilst maintaining overall responsibility for quality, compliance and inspection standards on site.
A key part of this role is conducting thorough fire door inspections and recording findings accurately using a digital recording application. Candidates must be comfortable using digital reporting tools and committed to maintaining high inspection standards throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and carry out fire door installation and remedial works across social housing, student accommodation and NHS sites
- Conduct detailed fire door inspections to BM TRADA standards, recording all findings accurately using a digital recording application
- Support the Project Manager with programme delivery, site coordination and reporting
- Ensure all works are delivered to the highest BM TRADA compliance standards
- Manage and motivate small teams on site across concurrent projects
- Carry out quality checks and spot inspections throughout the programme
- Liaise professionally with clients, residents and site contacts
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of works completed and inspections carried out
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times across all sites
- Occasional travel beyond the core region as required
What We're Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience in fire door installation and remedial works
- Strong working knowledge of BM TRADA standards — this is an essential requirement
- Experience conducting fire door inspections to a high standard
- Comfortable using digital recording applications for inspection reporting
- Experience working across social housing, student accommodation or NHS environments — desirable
- Ability to supervise and support small teams whilst remaining hands-on
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering works to a high standard
- Full UK Driving Licence — required
- CSCS Card — required
- SSSTS or SMSTS — desirable
