Location: Hull Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading geotechnical contractor based in Hull. Specialising in ground engineering solutions, the company works on a diverse range of infrastructure, commercial, industrial and residential projects across the UK.
This is a predominantly site-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in the practical delivery of projects and wants to gain hands-on experience working closely with site teams, clients and subcontractors.
The Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of geotechnical projects from mobilisation through to completion. You will provide technical support on site, oversee works, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on geotechnical and ground engineering projects.
- Supervise site operations and monitor project progress.
- Review ground investigation information and assist with engineering solutions.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications and health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site personnel.
- Assist with quality assurance, reporting and project documentation.
- Monitor programme performance and help resolve technical issues on site.
- Support project managers in the successful delivery of contracts.
Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
- Experience within geotechnical contracting, ground engineering or ground investigation.
- Strong understanding of site operations and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site activities.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
