An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Grounds Maintenance person to join Buxton City Council’s Grounds Maintenance team, delivering high-quality services across parks, highways, housing estates, and public spaces.

The Role:

• Towing a Water Bowser
• Carrying out general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and upkeep of shrub beds and floral displays
• Maintaining parks, highways, housing estates, and public/private spaces
• Ensuring all work is completed safely in line with health and safety regulations
• Completing job sheets, vehicle checks, and other required paperwork
• Supporting apprentices, temporary staff, and community groups where required

The Requirements:

• A willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to carry out manual work and use gardening tools/equipment
• Understanding of health and safety practices (training can be provided)
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team
• Willingness to undertake training and develop skills
