Health & Safety Manager - Manufacturing

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for a role where you can genuinely influence culture, drive improvement, and make a lasting impact?

We're supporting a successful manufacturing business in the search for a Health & Safety Manager to lead site-wide HSE activities and champion best practice across a fast-paced operational environment.

This is a highly visible position, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure compliance, minimise risk, and create a culture where safety is embedded in everything people do.

Key Responsibilities as Health & Safety Manager

  • Lead and develop the Health & Safety strategy across the site.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Maintain and improve ISO 45001 systems, with involvement in environmental initiatives linked to ISO 14001.
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Develop safe systems of work, permit-to-work procedures and emergency response processes.
  • Deliver engaging training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes.
  • Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and implement improvement plans.
  • Manage contractor compliance and support wider operational improvement projects.

What We're Looking For as Health & Safety Manager

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
  • Proven Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Practical, hands-on approach combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable as Health & Safety Manager

  • NEBOSH Diploma or working towards.
  • IOSH Membership.
  • ISO 14001 knowledge.
  • Internal/Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Fire Risk Assessment training.
