Role Overview

This role goes beyond standard kitchen duties, requiring an individual who can take initiative, provide leadership within the kitchen, and act as a key point of contact on-site when management is not present.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining service quality, supporting the kitchen team, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and service of food within a college kitchen environment
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety
  • Act as a lead figure within the kitchen, stepping up when required
  • Use a computer/PC system to complete basic reporting and communicate updates
  • Liaise confidently with the client on-site, ensuring satisfaction and professionalism at all times
  • Provide a stable and reliable presence, particularly when senior management is off-site


Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
  • Ability to lead or step up within a team setting
  • Comfortable using a PC for basic reporting and communication
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident dealing with clients and representing the service positively
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • DBS required
