Laser Operator / Setter

Are you an experienced Laser Cutting Operator looking to join a busy and growing manufacturing environment?

We are currently recruiting for a motivated and detail-oriented Laser Cutting Operator to join a well-established production team in Nottingham. This role is ideal for someone with previous laser cutting experience who takes pride in producing high-quality components while maintaining excellent productivity and safety standards.

The Role:

• Set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting machinery
• Produce components in line with engineering drawings and production schedules
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Carry out tooling changes and machine adjustments where required
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation
• Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, and gauges
• Monitor machine performance and report any production or quality concerns
• Complete production records and paperwork accurately
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and preventative maintenance checks

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery within manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards

Desirable:

• Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment
• Sheet metal manufacturing experience
• FLT licence or overhead crane experience
• Knowledge of continuous improvement practices

Package:

• £24,420 - £28,000 annual salary dependent on experience
• 40-hour working week
• Rotating shift pattern:
  • 6am – 2pm
  • 2pm – 10pm
  • 10pm – 6am
• 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
• Overtime available paid at enhanced rates:
  • 1.5x standard overtime
  • 2.0x Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and Bank Holidays
