Lead Engineer Cable Installation for a major offshore wind project in Scotland

Responsibilities

  • Hold EMPLOYER technical accountability for the IAC T&I Project scope covering surveys, BAS, CPS, FOU/crossings rock works, trenching, load-out, PLGR, cable laying, pull-in, hang-off, termination, testing and commissioning.
  • Lead, task and quality-assure IAC T&I package Engineers; resolve cross-engineer interfaces; cover for any engineer absence.
  • Own the EMPLOYER-side interface with Designer, Cable Manufacturer, Marine Warranty Surveyor, TSO, and BSH; chair recurring technical interface meetings and HAZID/HAZOP/HIRA attendance.
  • Operate the Technical Query (TQ) channel and the Variation Order substantiation process; raise, route and close-out TQs; provide technical substantiation packages to the Cable Installation Lead for VO decisions.
  • Drive end-to-end MDR process - review/approval cycles; monthly MDR updates; Change Log; document quality across PDMS / M-Files.
  • Own the Programme technical interface - baseline review, monthly progress validation, critical-path verification against milestones (mock-ups, PLGR, load-out, lay/burial, T&T, SAT, Taking-Over); challenge schedule logic against the AWD operating envelope.


Requirements

  • HV / HVAC submarine cable experience covering full T&I cycle (surveys, marine ops, pull-in, termination, testing, commissioning).
