Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive M&E Foreman to oversee the delivery of mechanical and electrical installation works across multiple commercial fit-out projects within train station and rail infrastructure environments throughout London and the Home Counties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site activities, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and supporting the successful delivery of projects ranging from £10,000 to £1 million in value.
While the role is predominantly electrical in nature, a sound understanding of mechanical services is essential to effectively coordinate all M&E disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate M&E installation works across multiple live projects.
- Manage and direct approximately 8 subcontractors and operatives across various sites.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate electrical installations including power, lighting, containment, fire alarms, data, and associated systems.
- Oversee mechanical installations and ensure effective integration with electrical services.
- Monitor labour resources, materials, plant, and equipment requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and rail industry standards.
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and documentation.
- Assist with commissioning activities and project handovers.
- Identify and resolve site issues to minimise delays and maintain productivity.
- Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on progress and risks.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as an M&E Foreman, Electrical Foreman, or M&E Supervisor.
- Strong electrical background with practical installation and supervisory experience.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical building services.
- Experience managing multiple projects and subcontractors simultaneously.
- Experience working within commercial fit-out environments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and programmes.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within train stations, rail environments, or infrastructure projects.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- ECS Gold Card or equivalent.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- PASMA and/or IPAF certification.
- Knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures.
- Experience working in live operational environments and possession planning.
