Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer



About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. You will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and repair works across a range of mechanical building systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Maintain domestic water systems in line with L8 compliance
  • Service and maintain HVAC equipment and associated plant
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
  • Maintain pumps, motors, valves, heating systems, and pressure systems
  • Ensure all maintenance records are completed accurately
  • Support safe systems of work and comply with all health & safety procedures
  • Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times
  • Participate in the on-call rota and support out-of-hours callouts where required


About You



Essential Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical or plumbing qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience working within commercial and/or domestic environments
  • Knowledge of plumbing, drainage, and water systems
  • Experience maintaining pumps, motors, valves, and heating systems
  • Understanding of L8 water hygiene requirements
  • Strong awareness of health & safety regulations
  • Good communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team


Desirable

  • HVAC and air handling unit experience
  • Building Management Systems (BMS) knowledge
  • Experience with pressure systems and pressurisation units
  • Unvented systems certification
  • Facilities Management experience
  • Knowledge of district heating or compressed air systems


Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime and weekend work available
  • Participation in on-call rota required
