Operations Coordinator
DFDS
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as an Operations Coordinator.
Be part of the movement – and play your part
About the role
Working any 5 days from 7 on a variable shift pattern, you’ll support the day‑to‑day coordination of transport operations. You’ll work closely with customers, drivers, depots, and internal teams to ensure orders are processed efficiently and deliveries are completed on time.
You will be responsible for:
Processing customer orders and allocating them to delivery vehicles
Preparing daily transport plans and routing vehicles across the UK
Coordinating subcontractor transport plans and external partners
Communicating with customers and responding to enquiries in a timely manner
Liaising with DFDS depots and internal departments to support operations
Using customer systems to obtain order requirements and update information
Preparing reports and maintaining accurate operational records
About you
You’ll be deadline‑driven, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy operational environment. You’ll have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ideally some understanding of UK geography. Experience in a transport or logistics environment is beneficial but not essential.
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re detail‑focused, a strong communicator, and comfortable working as part of a team. A proactive, problem‑solving mindset, along with flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly, will help you succeed. You’ll fit right in if you’re confident, happy to work in a lively environment, and committed to keeping operations running smoothly.
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
