My client is seeking a Payroll Officer to start on a temp basis until the end of September with the view of going onto a permanent contract. The ideal candidate should have iTrent experience and must have knowledge of Payroll in an education setting
Experience and knowledge with LGPS pension scheme
Experience with using ITRENT
Key Responsibilites
- Oversee the daily operations of the payroll service to ensure the monthly payroll is processed accurately and on time.
- Maintain up-to-date payroll records, including processing new starters, leavers, contractual changes, and any pay adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and contractual requirements relating to pay, benefits, pensions, and relevant legislation.
- Act as a primary point of contact for payroll queries from employees and managers, providing expert guidance and support.
- Assist the Payroll and Pensions Manager with reporting, audits, and reconciliation tasks as required.
- Collaborate and Liaise with HR and Finance colleagues to ensure accurate and consistent information is shared across systems.
- Support the implementation of improvements to payroll processes, workflow, and system efficiency.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Oversee that the payroll inbox is managed and employees have a satisfactory response with guidance and support, and that queries are resolved in a timely manner.
- Respond to external providers in the matter of queries or information needed in relation to employees or payroll.
- To be a proactive and positive team player within the department and participate in any meetings or training activities.
- To carry out any other duties that the payroll and pensions manager may ask of you relating to payroll and pensions.
