Our client is a leading national property and planning consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice across the residential, commercial, rural, infrastructure and energy sectors.

With a well-established planning team in the Midlands and an impressive portfolio of private and public sector clients, they are seeking an ambitious Town Planner to join their growing office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner looking to develop their career within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, working alongside specialists in development, rural consultancy, infrastructure, utilities, valuation and property services.



The Role

As a Town Planner, you will work on a varied range of planning projects across the UK, supporting clients from initial site appraisal through to planning determination and delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and managing planning applications, appeals and site promotion projects.
  • Undertaking planning appraisals and development feasibility assessments.
  • Providing planning advice to a diverse client base.
  • Drafting planning statements and supporting reports.
  • Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, highways consultants, ecologists and landscape architects.
  • Supporting business development activities and strengthening client relationships.
  • Attending client meetings, site visits and public consultation events where required.


About You

We are keen to hear from candidates who possess:

  • A degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • MRTPI status or progress towards chartership.
  • Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning policy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach to client service.
