Principal Systems Engineer

Location, Dorset – 3 days per week.

Salary, negotiable DoE.

Copello is supporting a leading aerospace and defence engineering organisation in the recruitment of a Senior/Principal Systems Engineers.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex engineering projects, providing technical direction across the full product lifecycle while working closely with customers, programme teams and multidisciplinary engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers within the team.
• Plan and coordinate engineering activities to meet project milestones.
• Engage with customers to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Lead design reviews and manage technical risks and change activities.
• Support requirements management, system design, integration, verification and validation activities.
• Work with engineering and programme teams to ensure successful project delivery.

About You

• Degree qualified in an Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience within a complex engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of the engineering lifecycle and design review process.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading projects, teams or technical work packages.
• Comfortable producing and presenting technical documentation.
