Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their established team in Fareham, Hampshire. This is a permanent position located at the cutting-edge Centre of Excellence for aerospace manufacturing.
Within the aerospace industry, our client stands out as a leading supplier of fully integrated fuel systems for various aircraft. With extensive fuel and air system testing facilities, the company supports comprehensive testing across diverse conditions. As they transition to a newly built state-of-the-art facility in Daedalus, this role offers an exciting opportunity during a significant phase of transformation and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of Quality Engineers, supporting various quality activities. This includes the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management initiatives, liaising with internal and external customers, training staff in self-certification approval status, and auditing processes and products.
- Development of Quality Engineering tools and activities, including SPC, Gauge R&R, FMEA, Six Sigma, Attribute Charts and control plans
- Managing Quality Reviews on a monthly and weekly basis
- Compiling and presenting KPIs for key business functions to support Management Quality Reviews
- Investigating quality issues to resolution in conjunction with necessary internal or external bodies
- Initiating, managing, or participating in product recalls as required by regulatory/customer requirements
- Actively participating in Design Reviews and new product introductions
- Compiling and maintaining company documentation
- Maintaining and training certifying staff
- Participating in company initiatives as required by Quality Management
- Conducting and completing Business System and Product audits according to the audit schedule
- Maintaining and progressing company approvals such as BS EN ISO 9001, EASA Part 21, AS EN 9001, and other customer-specific approvals
- Supporting the maintenance and training of the Self-Certification program
Job Requirements:
- Understanding of aerospace engineering and aerospace regulatory knowledge (EASA/AS9100)
- Experience in a similar role is advantageous
- Experience of participating in PFMEA/8D processes
- Proficiency with software such as Excel, Word, and Access
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- HNC/Degree qualification preferred, though significant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Excellent IT skills
- Audit training (preferably to Lead Auditor level)
