My client is a global engineering company that specialises in delivering high-quality projects within their energy division team. This means working on projects such as Windfarms, Substations and other large scale energy projects. They are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support projects in the London area.
This role is well-suited to someone who has about 4-5 years worth of experience as a Quantity Surveyor and is looking to progress within a company. The company has said that they are happy to sponsor the chosen candidate into completing the The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) course.
The role is a position that will have progression, where the chosen candidate can move up within the company.
The Role
The Quantity Surveyor will work on existing projects, supporting the local operations and commercial teams with all commercial requirements related to live projects, primarily focused within the Energy division.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist at the tender stage to identify commercial risks and advise on risk management strategies.
- Support the preparation of monthly forecast workbooks, sales plans, project reviews, and financial reports, including debt collection.
- Conduct a thorough review of order documentation to ensure compliance with tender documents.
- Attend pre-let meetings and assist in contract finalisation.
- Prepare and issue order acknowledgements for projects as required.
- Assist in the preparation of sub-contract orders, including issuing payment and pay-less notices in line with contractual terms.
- Conduct reviews with sub-contractors to assess accounts and performance.
- Regularly update the finance system to ensure accurate financial management of projects.
- Work alongside the operations team to prepare applications for payment and invoices, ensuring senior team review prior to client submission.
- Ensure payment notices are received in line with contractual terms and assist with debt collection when necessary.
- Prepare and issue all necessary contractual notices in accordance with contract requirements, managing loss and expense claims and extension of time requests.
Requirements
- Someone who has already got experience with Quantity Surveying either by a degree or experience.
- Some experience in the construction or engineering industry
- Good communications skills
- Able to work independently and as a team
