Are you an experienced children's residential care professional looking to advance your career?
Our client is expanding and seeking a passionate and ambitious Deputy Manager eager to step into a Registered Manager role.
We provide a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic home for children and young people aged 8–18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), supporting them to build resilience, independence, and brighter futures.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the homes, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
You will lead by example, support the development of the staff team, and play a key role in creating a positive environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Daily operation of the homes.
- Lead, motivate, supervise, and develop residential care staff.
- Promote a positive, professional, and child-centred culture.
- Mentor team members and support ongoing training and development.
- Assist with staff rotas and workforce planning.
Care & Support
- Support the development and review of individual care plans.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.
- Encourage young people to develop independence, confidence, and life skills.
- Ensure care is delivered in line with trauma-informed and child-centred practice.
- Safeguarding & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Children's Homes Regulations
- Ofsted requirements
- Safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Support audits, quality assurance processes, and service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure incidents, concerns, and safeguarding matters are appropriately managed and recorded.
Operational Responsibilities
- Support budget management and resource allocation.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting.
- Assist with monitoring mandatory training and compliance requirements.
- What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within children's residential care or a similar setting.
- NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (or equivalent).
- Working towards, or willing to undertake, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services.
If you're already a Registered Manager of a Children's Home must be registered with Ofsted
Strong knowledge of:
- Safeguarding
- Child Protection
- Children's Homes Regulations
- Ofsted Standards
- Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
