Senior Design Engineer

£60,000–£75,000+ DOE + benefits

Full-Time / Permanent 

A rapidly growing clean‑technology engineering business is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to take ownership of key mechanical subsystems used in large‑scale maritime hardware.

This role offers full lifecycle involvement from concept, detailed design, manufacturing release, and supplier interface.

YOUR NEW ROLE

  • Lead mechanical design from concept to production

  • Produce 3D models, drawings, and calculations

  • Ensure manufacturability, cost‑effectiveness, and production readiness

  • Resolve design/manufacturing issues quickly

  • Work closely with international suppliers

  • Support and review junior engineers

ABOUT YOU 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Marine Engineering

  • 5–10 years’ mechanical design experience in a production environment

  • Strong 3D CAD (Siemens NX, Inventor, or similar)

  • Experience with fabrication, welding, large structural assemblies

  • Strong DFMA knowledge

  • Background in marine, offshore, wind, or heavy engineering

  • Experience with DNV/LR or similar standards

  • Mandarin skills beneficial but not essential
