Sports Background? Bring Your Skills into a School Setting in Worksop!
GSL Education is seeking energetic and adaptable individuals with a background in sports, coaching, or fitness to work within secondary school settings across Worksop. These roles are based in education environments where the focus is on classroom support, behaviour management, cover supervision, and helping students remain engaged in learning throughout the school day.
This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to transfer their coaching and mentoring skills into education, supporting young people in a structured school environment rather than a sports-based setting.
About the Role:
This position is centred around school-based support rather than sports delivery. You will work alongside teaching staff to support learning in the classroom, supervise lessons when required, and help students overcome barriers to engagement. Your experience in motivating individuals, building positive relationships, and managing behaviour will be highly valuable, but your primary focus will be supporting learning and student development throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Support teachers with classroom learning and lesson delivery
-
Supervise classes as a learning support assistant or cover supervisor
-
Use transferable coaching skills to support behaviour management and student engagement
-
Help pupils remain focused, regulated, and involved in learning activities
-
Provide support for students with additional learning or behavioural needs
-
Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
-
Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour
Requirements:
-
Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work, or similar people-focused roles
-
Confidence working with groups of young people in a school setting
-
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
-
Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
-
Genuine interest in supporting education rather than delivering sport
-
