We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Clacton-on-Sea who are looking to add a Stores Controller to their operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous stock control, inventory management or stores experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a strong eye for detail.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring stock accuracy across the site, carrying out quality inspections on incoming materials, investigating discrepancies and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Duties of the Stores Controller will include:
- Carrying out quality inspections on inbound materials and goods
- Producing quality control reports and recording inspection results
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming products
- Investigating stock discrepancies and inventory issues
- Completing cycle counts and stock audits
- Processing stock adjustments, transfers and goods receipts
- Maintaining accurate stock records within the company's ERP/WMS systems
- Ensuring stock is correctly labelled and stored in the correct locations
- Monitoring damaged, failed or quarantined stock
- Supporting root cause investigations relating to stock and quality issues
- Working closely with Purchasing, Operations and Finance teams
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects across inventory and quality processes
- Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within Stores, Stock Control, Inventory Control
- Knowledge of Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working within a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems would be advantageous
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive and organised approach to work
- Current Counterbalance licence or previous forklift experience would be beneficial but is not essential
