Teaching Assistant
TeacherActive
Not everyone looking for a Teaching Assistant role has worked in a school before.
Maybe you've supported children through coaching, childcare, youth work, care work, or even through volunteering. Maybe you're considering a career in education and want to gain valuable classroom experience before taking the next step.
Whatever your background, if you enjoy helping children learn, grow, and build confidence, we'd love to hear from you.
TeacherActive is working with a number of friendly primary schools across Pembrokeshire that are looking for reliable, enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support their pupils and teaching teams.
Whether you're available five days a week or just a couple of days here and there, we'll help you find work that fits around your life.
So, what does a Teaching Assistant actually do?Every school is a little different, but you could find yourself:
- Supporting children one-to-one with their learning
- Helping small groups complete classroom activities
- Encouraging pupils who need a little extra confidence or support
- Assisting teachers with lessons and daily classroom routines
- Working with children across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Helping create a positive and welcoming learning environment
No two days are ever quite the same, which is one of the reasons so many people love working in schools.
Why do people choose supply work? For many people, flexibility is a huge benefit.
You might be studying, raising a family, returning to work, exploring a career in education, or simply looking for a better work-life balance. Supply work gives you the opportunity to gain experience in different schools while choosing a schedule that works for you.
What You'll Get- Flexible working opportunities
- Competitive daily pay (£85.50 - £95 per day)
- Free training and professional development through MyProgression
- Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
- £100 Refer-a-Friend bonus
- Opportunities in a variety of local primary schools
- Valuable classroom experience that can help build a long-term career in education
You don't need to tick every box.
We're simply looking for people who:
- Enjoy working with children
- Are patient, caring, and approachable
- Communicate well with others
- Are willing to learn and get involved
- Have experience supporting children in any capacity
Previous experience working with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is helpful, but it's certainly not essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for people who genuinely want to make a difference.
Interested?Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or completely new to the classroom, we'd be happy to talk through the opportunities available across Pembrokeshire.
