TIG Welder / Fabricator
Verteer · Direct employer
Location: Oxford / Bicester area
Salary: £42,000 to £48,000 DOE
Overtime: Weekend overtime available, paid at time and a half
Hours: Monday to Friday, days
My client is looking to appoint an experienced TIG Welder Fabricator to support a busy engineering workshop producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong TIG welding and fabrication experience, ideally with a varied background across sheet metal, stainless steel, aluminium or light fabrication work. The successful candidate will be confident working from engineering drawings, preparing materials, fabricating components and producing clean, accurate welds to a high standard.
The role is not purely a welding position. The client is looking for someone with broader fabrication capability who can support preparation, fitting, sheet metal work and general workshop activity where required. Experience with press brake work, laser-cut parts, fabrication preparation or varied workshop processes would be beneficial.
Current welding coding is not essential, but candidates must be comfortable completing a weld test as part of the assessment process. Thin gauge TIG welding capability is essential.
The Role
As TIG Welder Fabricator, you will be involved in the preparation, fabrication and welding of components for a range of engineering projects.
You will work from drawings and job requirements, prepare materials, carry out TIG welding and support general fabrication tasks within the workshop. The role may involve occasional customer site work, but the main focus will be workshop-based fabrication and welding.
There is plentiful overtime available, including weekend overtime paid at time and a half.
This position would suit someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, can work accurately from drawings, and is comfortable supporting a varied engineering workload.
