Axon Moore are working with a fast-growing, PE-backed business to appoint a Financial Accountant. Based in Manchester city centre, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a business experiencing strong, sustained growth.

Operating as a multi-entity group, the business partners with clients and continues to scale through technology and strategic partnerships. This role will play a key part in strengthening financial control, supporting month-end processes, and delivering high-quality financial reporting across the group.

Salary and Benefits

£50,000 – £52,000 per annum DOE, hybrid working (3 days in the office), flexible working hours, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, private medical, plus other benefits.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Own and deliver key aspects of the month-end close process across multiple entities.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are fully supported and accurately reported.
  • Assist with group consolidations, including inter-company reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Post and review journals including accruals, prepayments, and inter-company transactions.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, providing clear commentary on performance and variances.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
  • Support the audit process, preparing audit files and acting as a key contact for external auditors.
  • Assist with VAT returns and wider tax compliance processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, supporting stakeholders with financial insight where required.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and ongoing development of systems and processes as the business continues to scale.
Requirements for the role:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Practice background or experienced within a similar Financial Accountant role.
  • Exposure to group consolidations is desirable.
  • Experience with Xero or similar systems.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive and inquisitive approach.
  • Confident communicator, able to build relationships across the business.
  • Self-starter with ambition to develop within a high-growth environment.
