Accountant

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Accountant to support the Finance Manager in overseeing the organisation’s financial control, accounting processes, and reporting. This role plays a key part in producing accurate financial information to support informed decision-making and drive overall business performance.

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items
• Manage key control areas including taxation, credit policies, costing, and expense control
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes, including journal preparation, posting, and review
• Review financial and statistical data to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submission
• Support internal and external audit processes, providing appropriate documentation as required
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports in line with management and statutory requirements
• Process vendor payments, ensuring payment terms are met
• Monitor performance against budgets and produce variance and control reports
• Support the annual budgeting process and wider financial planning activities
• Assist with cash flow reporting and wider financial analysis as required
• Identify and support process improvements across accounting activities

• Degree in Accounting or Finance (desirable) and/or recognised accountancy qualification
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience
• Strong technical knowledge including general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support
• Experience with bank reconciliations and foreign currency transactions
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
