You will be joining a well-established and highly regarded organisation based in Cardiff, known for its collaborative culture, strong operational values, and commitment to continuous improvement.Due to a period of change within the finance team, they are now looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a fixed-term basis to support the smooth running of financial operations. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, supporting both transactional and administrative processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate coding across the general ledger, cost centres, and projects
  • Monitoring the finance inbox and responding to internal and external queries
  • Preparing supplier payment runs and supporting timely payments
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Allocating incoming payments and maintaining accurate sales ledger records
  • Monitoring debtor balances and supporting credit control activities where required
  • Processing bank transactions and performing regular bank reconciliations
  • Supporting staff expenses and company credit card administration
  • Assisting with journals, accruals, and general finance processes
  • Providing general administrative support across the finance team
  • Supporting compliance processes where required

This is a varied and hands-on role, offering strong exposure across both accounts payable and receivable, making it ideal for someone looking to develop a broad understanding of finance operations within a busy and dynamic organisation.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within a finance or accounts administration role
  • Experience processing invoices or supporting accounts payable processes
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
