Axon Moore have exclusively partnered with an industry leading business in Leyland which has witnessed significant growth in recent years whilst they seek to bolster the finance team with the recruitment of an Accounts Payable Assistant able to hit the ground running and add value across the business in terms of processes improvement whilst still being hands-on within the AP function.
A generous starting salary is on offer up to £32,000 and there is scope to become involved with wider areas of the accounts team. The team is friendly and down to earth which is well suited to a chatty and personable candidate. The business also boasts a great working culture with flexible working also on offer (start times between 7:30am-9:30am).
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Accurately register and process purchase invoices
- Match invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes (GRNs), ensuring accuracy, especially with high-value or multi-product invoices
- Execute timely payment runs
- Reconcile supplier statements at month-end, investigate discrepancies, and ensure all balances are correct
- Process monthly employee expense claims, verifying that receipts are submitted and properly coded
- Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc supplier and expense payments in line with agreed terms
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records and documentation
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice or payment-related issues
- Assist with accruals, reconciliations, and other tasks to support timely month-end reporting
- Minimum two/three years previous experience in accounts payable
- Strong experience using Microsoft Excel

- Starting salary £32,000 DOE
- Flexibility on hours (7:30am-9:30am start times- usually 8:30am)
