Role Overview

As an Accounts Receivable / Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance function. You will assist with collecting payments from customers, raising invoices, and resolving queries, while collaborating with multiple departments across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Invoicing: Ensure timely invoicing of distribution sales
  • Credit Control: Manage credit control activities across multiple sales ledgers
  • Bank Receipts: Accurately process bank receipts to the sales ledgers
  • Outstanding Accounts: Send and follow up reminder letters to chase overdue balances within agreed credit terms
  • Query Resolution: Resolve customer queries by working closely with internal departments
  • Customer Statements: Review and issue monthly customer statements
  • Collaboration: Liaise with Sales Order Processing, Service, and Projects teams regarding orders and payments
  • General Accounts Support: Assist with wider accounts assistant duties as required
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Provide cover for purchasing and purchase ledger when required


Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Experience within a credit control or accounts environment
  • Systems: Experience using SAP is highly advantageous; confidence with finance and business systems is essential
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Accuracy: High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Mindset: Positive, proactive "can‑do" attitude with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Organisation: Excellent time management and organisational ability
  • Teamwork: Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility: Open to supporting the team with new or additional tasks
