🧩 The Role

As an Advanced Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in supporting children in care, ensuring they receive consistent, high-quality support and positive outcomes.

You’ll also act as a practice lead within the team, offering guidance to less experienced social workers while managing a complex caseload.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Looked After Children
• Lead on complex cases and care planning
• Support permanency planning, including long-term placements and adoption pathways
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff
• Contribute to quality assurance and best practice development
• Work closely with carers, families, and multi-agency partners
• Attend and lead reviews, strategy meetings, and case conferences
• Ensure accurate and timely case recording

✅ What we’re looking for

• Qualified Social Worker
• Significant experience within Looked After Children / Children in Care teams
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and care planning legislation
• Experience supporting or mentoring other Social Workers
• Ability to manage complex cases with confidence
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
