£16.00 – £20.00 (Negotiable)
Purpose of the Role
The After School Club Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, organisation, and delivery of a safe, stimulating, inclusive, and enjoyable after-school provision for children and young people. The postholder will lead staff, ensure compliance with safeguarding and health and safety requirements, maintain high standards of care, and create engaging activities that support children's development, wellbeing, and independence.
Desirable
-Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork, Youth Work, Education, Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
-Paediatric First Aid qualification.
-Designated Safeguarding Lead training.
-Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
-Experience managing an after-school club or similar childcare setting.
Management Responsibilities
-Manage the daily operation of the after-school club.
-Supervise, support, and motivate staff and volunteers.
-Conduct staff inductions, supervision sessions, and performance reviews.
-Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained at all times.
-Organise staff rotas and cover arrangements.
Safeguarding and Welfare
-Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people.
-Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented effectively.
-Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL where appropriate.
-Report concerns in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
-Maintain accurate incident, accident, and safeguarding records.
Programme Planning
-Develop and deliver a varied programme of age-appropriate activities.
-Encourage children's participation in sports, arts, creative play, educational activities, and social development.
-Ensure activities are inclusive and accessible to children with SEND.
-Support children to develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
Health and Safety
-Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
-Undertake risk assessments for activities and outings.
-Monitor the safety and suitability of equipment and facilities.
-Administer medication in line with policies and procedures where required.
Parent and Stakeholder Engagement
-Build positive relationships with parents, carers, schools, and external professionals.
-Communicate effectively regarding children's progress, wellbeing, and attendance.
-Address concerns and complaints professionally and promptly.
Administration
-Maintain attendance registers and child records.
-Complete reports, monitoring forms, and funding documentation as required.
-Manage bookings and registrations where applicable.
-Ensure confidentiality and compliance with GDPR requirements.
Financial Responsibilities
-Support budget management and resource allocation.
-Monitor expenditure on activities and equipment.
-Ensure value for money while maintaining service quality.
Essential
