About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and confident Installation Air Conditioning Engineer to join their team, working on large-scale commercial projects across London.
This is a hands-on role focused primarily on installation within major project environments, with additional involvement in minor works and servicing. The ideal candidate will have strong installation knowledge and experience working across a variety of commercial settings.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation of commercial air conditioning systems (VRV/VRF, split, multi-split, etc.)
- Carrying out installation works, minor works, and occasional servicing
- Working on large-scale commercial projects with a strong focus on installation quality
- Installing associated pipework, ductwork, and ventilation systems
- Supporting works across plumbing, air conditioning, and ventilation (with stronger expertise in at least one area expected)
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
- Collaborating with site teams, project managers, and other trades
Projects & Clients
You will work on a wide range of high-profile and diverse sites, including:
- High-end restaurant chains and luxury retail fit-outs across central London
- Maintenance works at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and The O2 Arena
- Contracts with large-scale communications companies
- Projects within schools and hospitals
Salary & Benefits
- Basic Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
- Overtime:1.5x rate (Monday–Saturday)
- 2x rate (Sundays and after midnight)
- Company vehicle and tools (if applicable)

Working Hours & Travel
- Basic Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
- Engineers are expected to work a 10-hour door-to-door day, including travel
- Typically allows for 2 hours travel + 8 hours on-site
- If travel time increases (e.g. 4 hours), on-site hours adjust accordingly (e.g. 6 hours on-site)
- Approximately 90% of work is within London, covering various locations across the city
Call-Out & Overtime Structure
- No formal call-out rota
- Planned out-of-hours work available
Pension
- Statutory pension scheme provided
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Installation Engineer in commercial environments
- Strong installation knowledge (essential due to project-heavy workload)
- Experience or understanding of plumbing and ventilation systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent)
- F-Gas Certification (essential)
- CSCS card (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
