Apprenticeships Business Development Manager – Digital, Data & Technology

Location: Remote (Travel to Derby once per month)

Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 + Commission

Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Job

As an Apprenticeships Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new employer relationships, winning new business, and promoting apprenticeship solutions across Digital, Technology, Data, and AI programmes.

You will manage the full sales lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and engaging employers through to onboarding successful apprenticeship partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business opportunities and develop employer partnerships across the UK
  • Promote Digital, Technology, Data, AI, Cyber Security, Software Development, and IT apprenticeship programmes
  • Manage the full B2B sales cycle from prospecting through to onboarding
  • Build relationships with levy and non-levy employers
  • Identify employer skills gaps and recommend suitable apprenticeship solutions
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate CRM records
  • Achieve sales targets and support business growth
  • Work closely with internal delivery teams to ensure successful learner and employer journeys
  • Attend employer meetings, networking events, and monthly Derby team meetings

Ideal Candidate

You will be an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager, Apprenticeship Sales Consultant, Employer Engagement Manager, or Training Sales professional.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience selling apprenticeships, training solutions, or workforce development programmes
  • Strong knowledge of Digital, Technology, Data, or IT apprenticeship programmes
  • Proven experience in B2B sales and employer relationship management
  • Track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline independently within a remote environment
  • Understanding of apprenticeship funding, levy employers, and the skills sector

Experience selling programmes such as Data Analyst, Digital Marketing, Cyber Security, Software Development, AI, or Business Intelligence apprenticeships would be highly desirable.

A willingness to travel to Derby once per month is essential.
