A skilled Approved Electrician is needed to support ongoing compliance and maintenance activities across a range of commercial and industrial environments throughout Scotland, involving regular travel to multiple operational sites.
Overview of the Role
The position focuses on inspection, testing and follow‑up remedial work to ensure electrical systems meet current standards. The working pattern is primarily Monday to Friday, with additional hours often available due to operational demands and occasional weekend work during planned shutdowns.
Core duties include:
- Conducting electrical testing and inspection in line with BS7671
- Checking and maintaining emergency lighting systems
- Completing remedial tasks identified during inspections
- Working in accordance with site procedures, safety requirements and job specifications
- Travelling directly to customer locations across the Southwest
- Company van and fuel card
- All PPE and specialist testing equipment
- Accommodation arranged when overnight stays are required
- Breakfast included plus a £25 evening meal allowance
- Direct‑to‑site working model
- Strong likelihood of overtime due to workload
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent route)
- 18th Edition qualification
- AM2 or full apprenticeship completion
- Valid ECS card
- Experience in fixed‑wire testing within commercial or industrial settings
- First Aid training
- Asbestos Awareness certification
- Basic DBS issued within the last 3 months
- C&G 2391 (advantageous but not mandatory)
- Confident working independently and managing daily site travel
- Initial 3‑month assignment with potential continuation
- 37 hours per week plus overtime
- Immediate start available
