We are recruiting for an Area Cleaning Manager to oversee a portfolio of just four large, prestigious contracts across Manchester City Centre. This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth within the business.

Reporting directly to senior management, you will have full responsibility for service delivery, client relationships, and team management across a small portfolio of high-profile sites, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional standards rather than managing an excessive number of contracts.

Your Role
  • Full responsibility for contract performance, ensuring SLA and KPI targets are consistently achieved

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships across the portfolio

  • Managing cleaning teams and supervisors to ensure high standards of service delivery

  • Conducting regular site visits and quality audits

  • Recruitment, training, development, and retention of cleaning operatives

  • Managing labour budgets, timesheets, and operational performance

  • Handling client queries and resolving issues promptly and professionally

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements

  • Supporting the mobilisation of new contracts as the business continues to grow

  • Working closely with senior management to identify opportunities for service improvement

About You
  • Previous experience managing cleaning contracts within a commercial environment

  • Strong people management and leadership skills

  • Excellent client relationship management experience

  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently

  • Strong understanding of service delivery, KPIs, and operational performance

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Passion for delivering high standards and developing teams
