Our client is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of premium automotive and industrial lubricant solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Area Sales Manager to join their Automotive division, covering Northern England.

The Role
As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of key customers operating under a fluid management programme, while identifying and securing new business opportunities across your territory.
You will focus on driving profitable sales growth, increasing market share, and building long-term relationships with customers across a range of automotive and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop existing customer accounts to maximise sales and profitability.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within your territory.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
- Maintain an active pipeline of sales opportunities and convert prospects into customers.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, competitor activity, and industry trends.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's product portfolio, specifications, and applications.
- Deliver technical and commercial solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.
About You
We are looking for a driven and self-motivated sales professional who can demonstrate a successful track record in business development and account management.
Requirements
- Proven success in a field-based sales role.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage a sales territory effectively and work independently.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good IT and numerical skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience selling into one or more of the following sectors would be highly advantageous:
- Automotive Aftermarket
- Franchise Dealer Networks
- Commercial Vehicle Fleets
- Agricultural Sector
- Construction & Plant
- Off-Highway Equipment
