Duration: Temp to perm or perm
Shifts: Day shift (Mon to Thurs 7.30am- 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am -13.30pm)
Pay Rate: DOE

We are currently seeking an experienced Assembly & Test Operative to join a busy engineering and manufacturing team. This role involves assembling precision-engineered components, carrying out quality inspections, and testing hydraulic cylinders to ensure they meet strict performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production orders accurately.
  • Assemble components into completed products using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Carry out in-process inspections and final quality checks to ensure all products meet company standards.
  • Conduct hydraulic cylinder testing in line with established engineering procedures.
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty testing equipment and rigs.
  • Identify and report any faults or non-conforming products, following internal quality and non-conformance procedures.
  • Move products safely and efficiently throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Work to production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe at all times.
  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Update and use the company's MRP system as required.


Essential Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar assembly or testing role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and AutoCAD drawings.
  • Experience using a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.


Desirable Experience

  • 3 or more years' experience in a comparable role.
  • Background in engineering or heavy manufacturing.
  • Previous exposure to hydraulic systems or the hydraulics industry.


Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am - 1:30pm
