Axon Moore is proud to be partnering with a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation that is currently seeking an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. In this role, you will provide support to the management accountants, and you’ll be part of a business where your ideas are encouraged, and your growth is genuinely supported. 

Location: West Manchester (Salford Area) + Hybrid

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 + Study Support

Main duties:
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Provide day-to-day support to the accounting team with routine financial activities
  • Input and maintain financial data with a high level of accuracy
  • Prepare, review, and record journal entries
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments
  • Identify and resolve reconciling differences promptly
  • Process and record invoices accurately
  • Compile supporting documentation and assist with audit enquiries
  • Maintain well-organised and accurate financial records
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support efficient financial processes
  • Build knowledge of accounting principles under the guidance of management accountants
Person specification:
  • Basic understanding of management accounts, practical experience is not needed but the understanding of principles will be.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience within a finance assistant role 
  • Studying AAT and keen to continue 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop
