Assistant Accountant

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

• Supporting month-end close processes and management accounting activities
• Performing reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities
• Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies proactively
• Assisting with intercompany accounting and balance reviews
• Supporting audit preparation and ensuring accurate financial records
• Analysing financial data and identifying trends or variances
• Working closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and wider finance teams
• Contributing to finance process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Supporting a busy finance function within a high-volume environment

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:

• Experience within a finance or accounting environment
• Strong analytical mindset with good problem-solving capability
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced SME environment
• Strong Excel and general systems skills
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Positive, adaptable, and collaborative approach to work
• Exposure to reconciliations, journals, or month-end processes advantageous
• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA beneficial but not essential
