Assistant Director - Reward & Recognition (Interim)

Location: West Midlands (minimum 2 days per week)
Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: £700-£800 per day


The Opportunity

We are looking for a senior HR leader to take on the role of Assistant Director - Reward & Recognition, leading the pay, reward, and job evaluation process across a major organisation. This is a pivotal position, responsible for delivering a fair, compliant and sustainable Reward & Recognition strategy, aligned to financial and organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of the organisation-wide Reward & Recognition strategy
  • Oversee job evaluation, equal pay risk and reward governance frameworks
  • Provide expert leadership on pay policy, compliance and employment legislation
  • Lead on complex workforce cost modelling and reward insight
  • Manage collective bargaining and negotiations with Trade Unions
  • Drive continuous improvement across reward, compliance and policy
  • Deputise for the Director of Industrial & Employee Relations as required

About You

  • Significant senior experience in reward, pay or recognition in a large, complex organisation
  • Deep knowledge of equal pay, job evaluation and employment law
  • Strong track record in leading and managing risk in reward frameworks
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • CIPD Level 7 qualified (or equivalent experience)
