Axon Moore are proud to be working alongside a rapidly-growing business based in Chorley in their search for an ambitious and driven, Assistant Management Accountant seeking long-term growth and progression opportunities.

Working alongside an exceptional Head of Finance, this broad and varied role will involve assisting with the production of management accounts, including, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, etc. As well as cashflows, banking and transactional activities, all whilst playing a pivotal role in the growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assisting with month-end, including preparing and posting journals, variance analysis and generating management accounts
  • Analysing costs and expenses and identifying areas for cost control and efficiency improvements
  • Assisting with forecasting and budget preparation
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing and presenting management reports on key financial metrics
  • Assisting with monthly cost of sales reporting and helping to identify improvements and areas for investigation
  • Creating and implementing analytical tools and reports, variances, trends and opportunity for improvement to add value for the wider business
  • Internal and external audits
  • Liaising with all departments and assisting in preparing management reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes, controls and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal policies
  • Providing financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar management accounts role
  • AAT Qualified or ACCA/CIMA Part Qualified (Desirable)
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
  • Boast a tenacious, problem-solving attitude
  • Enthusiastic team player with a positive, hard-working approach
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Well organised and self-motivated with an ability to prioritise and manage own time efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
